There are few perfect films in this world, and Inception is one of them. I had extremely high expectations for this film for months before I finally got to see it. Normally, this ends in complete disaster and I am so disappointed by the end that I want to kill myself for looking forward to it. In this case, however, to quote a meme, “everything went better than expected.”

I was incredibly...

I understand completely how Citizen Kane is supposed to be the best movie in the entire world. I don’t agree, of course, because I think that’s an extremely tall order and we all know how fond I am of Inglourious Basterds and Rumble Fish, but I do indeed understand the hype. I’m sure people have their reasons for thinking Citizen Kane’s the greatest. It’s the first to do this and the first...

There's more to the plot than just the idea of a man's downfall from hubris. What made Citizen Kane stand out was the storytelling, with the stories within stories, the unique way that Orson Welles told the story. We look at Kane's life through the eye of an investigative reporter, unnamed and faceless. He acts as our surrogate and invests us making us feel like we are investigating him, becoming part of the story

Despite being preoccupied with a paper I was trying to write, this film actually managed to creep me out a little bit. The acting is great for a horror movie.

Love the cinematography and the acting but, but a little too optimistic for me.

The way the film is shot, the simplicity of the story (despite how many characters there are), and Adrien Brody's acting make a short film memorable. Fell a little short of leaving a real emotional impact, however.

Couldn't help but draw parallels to Coppola's The Conversation, but The Lives of Others didn't fall flat in the comparison. Ulrich Mühe's performance is so nuanced and incredible that I may have actually preferred this one, honestly. In fact, time spent away from his character irritated me after a while because it felt like time wasted in an otherwise well-paced and well thought out film.

This movie had some of the worst subtitles I've ever seen for a film, which made it distractingly difficult to watch. But the depths of my love for Lee Ji Hoon got me through it. If you don't feel much of a need to get close to the characters in a film, or know what's going on most of the time, it's OK to put on in the background and sort of vaguely watch. Especially if you just like gangster films.

Even though the synopsis sounds a little creepy, and this film can get a tad uncomfortable at times, it's ultimately harmless and might even pull at your heartstrings. Easy to see why every teacher and student at the school would be in love with the art teacher, too, but maybe I'm biased.
