One of my friends was totally appalled that I'd never seen this movie, so when I found it on Netflix I obviously had to give it a go. I'd probably have liked it more if I'd grown up with it, but I still really enjoyed it and would love to find a Christmas movie that was as much fun as this Halloween movie. I can definitely see its appeal :)

Obviously a huge rip-off of Indiana Jones and SO over the top. It's so bad it circles all the way back to being fun (never good - too cheesy for good), but I spent most of the time watching it being utterly incredulous at how ridiculous it is!

I've been looking forward to seeing this movie ever since I first heard that it was being made. I absolutely love the book and hoped the movie could do it justice. Fortunately it could, and while it didn't blow me away the way the book did, I think that's more due to the fact that the movie couldn't offer anything more than what the book had already given. It was EXTREMELY true to the book - incredibly well made...

Cute movie, just as charming as the book. I love - and am just slightly envious of - the friendship between the four girls.

As a YA movie, it has a lot more depth than what's usually found in YA movies.

I'd forgotten how much fun this movie is! There's nothing of any substance in it, but it's just good fun. I really wish they hadn't let Sue be in a committed relationship before she met Mike though. It seemed pointless.

It might be 36 years old, but it totally stands the test of time!

Really, really funny! I laughed out loud on several occasions - especially at the very first shot fired :-D Usually I'm not too fond of Melissa McCarthy as I think she tends to go overboard on the method acting, but it really worked here and I greatly enjoyed it.

I felt like rewatching this after seeing Julia Child's kitchen at the Smithsonian for myself. It's just as good as I remembered it :) I wonder about Julia's reaction to Julie's project though. It (the project) doesn't seem disrespectful to me, but I guess she might only have heard about it, and not actually know the details.

Pretty terrific actually. I was surprised by how much I liked it, as I'd expected nothing more than a standard action movie. It was that too, but it was better than most. It was fun and fast-paced with lots of interesting twists and turns. Also, I was ridiculously pleased with myself when "Elsie" tried to guess "Frank's" career, I thought "teacher!" and he replied, "Math - I teach math". Woohoo :-D

I've gone off...

Me, too! About the teacher thing I mean. I wonder what was so typically teacher about him though?

Netflix recommended this to me, and it seemed like something I would enjoy. And I did - absolutely I loved it. Seeing Rachel grow and seeing her relationship with her father slowly rebuild... so sweet! And I'm glad the ending didn't disappoint.

Obviously not as good as "Finding Nemo", but still definitely had its laugh-out-loud moments (I loved the half-blind white shark). The end was more than a little unrealistic, but I loved the rest of it.

I knew absolutely nothing about the historical events behind this movie ahead of time, but thought it an incredibly interesting and well done movie. I still think I'm missing out on a lot of the details and definitely need to read up on both this and Watergate now!

Typical Indiana Jones-like movie, but I liked it :-) It could easily have worked without the side story of 'Texas' though. To me, it seemed a bit pointless - only included in the plot to explain why Dirk Pitt and Al were in Mali. I really liked that Al wasn't just comic relief though, but a close-to equal partner.

Better than I remembered it, but that's probably got more to do with my low expectations than the...

I haven't seen this since 2006 and remembered it as being... well, just better I guess. I actually found it somewhat boring in parts, which surprised me greatly.

After having watched the two National Treasure movies I wanted to see another treasure hunt movie, and this one was suggested to me. The beginning is alright but then? Gah! So much time is wasted with ridiculous chase scenes, fight scenes and Marion...

I love this type of movie, but have to admit that the premise behind NT2 is kinda weak... forging an old document (and why didn't they realize it was a forgery?) to force Gates to do something he'd likely have been thrilled to do regardless? Doesn't make much sense to me. But if I close my eyes to that, I like the rest of the movie and would LOVE to know what page 47 says!

Such a shame NT3 never happened - IMDB has...
