I'd seen this at the movies when it first came out, and remember being very impressed by it. It didn't quite live up to my expectations, as I thought there were a number of things left unexplained, but in general I did enjoy it.

Sweet movie and fortunately very true to the book, which is one of my favourite Maeve Binchy novels.

Sweet cartoon in the traditional Disney style. It doesn't quite have the same charm as Pixar movies, but it was perfect for plane viewing.

I just need to point out that these grades do NOT indicate the quality the movie is, but how much I enjoyed it ;-) From a purely critical point of view, this movie did not deserve such a high grade, as it's a typical chick-flick and therefore overdone and totally predictable. But boy did I enjoy it! It was exactly what I needed on an evening home alone. Colin Firth is always worth watching, and it wasn't one of...

exactly what I was thinking while I was watching this film, it so so cliche'd and yet, so much fun :)

A different take on the eternal high school movies. Based on a true story. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it as an alternative chick-flick.

This is one of my all-time favourite movies. So many lovely characters and so many quotable moments. But the funny thing is, that the movie would really only be okay if it wasn't for the end - the last 20 minutes remains to this day the 20 sweetest and most romantic minutes of any movie, and completely changes it from an average movie to one of my favourites.

Devastating and chilling. An amazing movie that just grabbed me completely. After what I felt was one hour I looked at my watch and saw that I'd been sitting mesmerized for almost two hours! I don't recommend it to anybody who's already afraid of flying because of terrorism, because it made even me think twice about flying the next time I traveled, but it's a fascinating and informative movie. Not nearly as...

Sweet movie, although as far as I remember very different from the book. I really like both though, and would love to go back to Tuscany some day!

Unfortunately I was somewhat disappointed by this movie. It wasn't as satisfying as I'd expected it to be. It was too embarrassing at times, too crude at other times, and generally more shallow than I'd expected. Seeing as the main premise of the movie was an inability to maintain a relationship, it seemed like a cop-out that it ended where it did. It did have both its sweet and funny moments though, which is why...

After having read Peak I found myself intrigued by mountain climbing and felt like watching this one. It's such a B-movie though! Everything that can go wrong does go wrong and the moral is really, really heavy-handed.

A colleague of mine recommended that I watched this, so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's based on the true story of the Irish journalist Veronica Guerin who's trying to make people more aware of the drug problem in Ireland. Naturally the drug lords aren't thrilled by this, and end up killing her for interfering. Of course this just makes her story even bigger and forces the politicians to finally do something...
