Another "you might enjoy this" recommendation from Netflix. I watched the trailer, and it definitely looked like something I might like, so I decided to give it a shot. And it was fun! Nothing special, but a fun take on the rom-com cliche, and ended up being better than I had expected.
A woman who hates herself and every cliché in Romantic-comedy movies gets knocked out and wakes up living inside a rom-com. I like the core of this story but most jokes fell flat to me, couple of grins and laughs here and there but what I find mostly sad is that the rom-com she gets transported into isn't really a good one.
perfectly delightful romcom
Anyone who enjoys rom-coms will absolutely love this film. The cast is clearly having a ball, the film truly makes the most of its NYC setting, and karaoke will never be the same again.
For a long time, Natalie, an Australian architect living in New York City, had always believed that what she had seen in rom-coms is all fantasy. But after thwarting a mugger at a subway station only to be knocked out while fleeing, Natalie wakes up and discovers that she is self-aware of her existence in a "PG-13 Universe" and must escape every cliché in order to finally fall in love and achieve the happily ever after that will bring her back to reality.
