Rinema is the best way to share movies you love.

Insurance company drone by day, illustrator by night. I am not an intellectual moviegoer; give me a good superhero movie with lots of 'splosions or a Pixar flick and pass the popcorn.

We ain't got no god damned trout

For some people, the fact that Jeff Bridges has found a character he can play over and over (surly old cuss with a great drawl) has gotten old. Not for me. Chris Pine and especially Ben Foster deliver rousing performances as bank-robbing brothers. While I don't think this is anywhere near "Best Picture" material, it's a really well done caper.

Needed some zombies

The lights go out for good, and it's never explained why. That doesn't bother me so much, but it just didn't make for a whole movie's worth of drama or conflict, so they threw in a rape scene. The characters' subsequent reactions relating to it made for a more confusing conclusion depending on your stance on certain things, maybe? At any rate, I liked watching Ellen Page & Evan Rachel Wood interact for the length...

No, please go back

I really enjoyed the first Jack Reacher movie, and was really looking forward to this one, despite the reviews. Unfortunately, it is nowhere near as enjoyable. While I love this cast, the fight scenes border on boring, the plot is mediocre, and I just couldn't get into it. A shame.

Soothes the savage beast

I took my kids to a Disney cartoon expecting cute animal hijinks; and while they abounded, Zootopia also delivers a really good crime drama! Character design, pacing, humor, pretty much everything delivered. I've heard lots of griping either for or against the not-so-subtle examinations of race relations in the story; I thought it was fine. Not all of the points were necessarily apt, and some were too on-the-nose,...

Schrodinger's cat fight

Eight friends attend a dinner party while a mysterious comet looms overhead. Mind-bending quantum physics ensue. A nice neat little movie!

Good grief

As a cartoonist, it is my dream to make characters as lovable and memorable as the ones created by Charles Schulz, so after I'm dead some studio can create an unoriginal, mediocre cash grab from them.

The heart of MY ocean

One of Disney's most visually breathtaking animated features. The characters are loveable, the story is fun, and the music and visuals just take you to a magical place for a couple hours. Stellar work.

Let's Have a Rebellion

If I was making a movie about the gang that stole the plans to the Death Star, I'd personally go less "Saving Private Ryan" and more "Ocean's Eleven in Space," but that's just me. The action is great and the aesthetic is pure Star Wars beauty, but I really didn't care about the characters at all, which is a huge problem in a Star Wars movie. It was more dour than fun, and while it was a pretty good movie, I don't...

Iron Man Goes to Hogwarts!

While the story is, by this point, a run-of-the-mill Marvel origin, the visuals and performances of the main actors definitely make this film a feast for the eyes and push all the right nerd buttons. Cumberbatch is perfect for the role of Stephen Strange, and Ejiofor & Swinton provide excellence all around in their roles, as well.

As per usual, a great actor is wasted as an underexplored throwaway villain; the...

Now I don't 2

An okay try at a lighthearted caper, it's entertaining enough. I just think the filmmakers overestimate the audience's enjoyment of seeing movie special effects presented as actual sleight-of-hand that a live magician would perform. It's just not as impressive.

Bury them

Unoriginal, not scary. Mercifully short.

Serviceable biopic of an American icon. Hiddleston & Olsen pair well together as the leads, but there were just too many odd choices made by the filmmakers. So many seemingly important aspects are glossed over perfunctorily; and there was a great opportunity to have some sort of climax, but somebody decided that movies shouldn't have those sort of things. Whatever.

Almost the Mad Max prequel we never knew we wanted

One of my favorite Mel Gibson performances ever. This movie is the drunk trailer-park uncle of Sicario; amazing.
