Rhain Leddy

I am a man of ideas, ideas that come from seemingly nowhere and, sometimes, blossom into great things. Most times, though, my ideas sound somewhat odd. But that is the very thing that I want my ideas to be. My brand of humor and creativity is somewhat

Underrated

While die-hard fans of the Hulk as a character (such as myself) may find this movie lacking in several areas, fanboys the world over need only to take a step back and see the film for what it really is.

This film is, basically, a shining example of a well-done reboot. What makes it so respectable is that it not only had to make up for the embarassement that was Ang Lee's "Hulk", but it had decades of fans and canon...

Classic

Pioneering an entire genre of films is not an easy task. When this film came out, moviegoers were not used to cinema verite (when it looks like it was shot with a home camera). Since, it has inspired countless films shot in the same style, most notably Cloverfield.

What makes 'Blair Witch Project' and films like it so suspenseful (and even scary) is the fact that we can only see what the characters see. We are...

Unsettling

Takashi Miike's "Audition" lies somewhat above and beyond the more conventional horror genre that most people see today. Like most Japanese horror films, "Audition" follows a somewhat non-linear storyline. But the real...

Different

What makes "Exorcismus" different from most exorcism movies is the ambiance. Set in London, the film follows 15-year-old Emma as she and her family deal with strange symptoms. Eventually, her uncle recognizes her seizures, blackouts, and violent outbursts as signs of demonic possession. Together, they set out to expel the Devil from Emma's body.

While most contemporary exorcism movies rely on a near-constant...

Still Excellent

The first thing that one must keep in mind while watching this Luc Besson epic is to not, at any point in the movie, take it too seriously. After all, the movie itself stays true to classic sci-fi ambiance equivalent to Blade Runner, but never takes itself too seriously. It moves away from its gritty action roots, sometimes ever-so-slightly, to break the tension with a bit of well-placed humor. This is a common...
